Sean Goodbody - Attorney

About

A native of Wendell, Idaho, Sean Goodbody is a 2007 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.A., magna cum laude, Philosophy, Politics, and Economics). He played running back for Penn’s football program and was a legal investigator in Penn Law School’s low-income law clinic.

Sean is a 2011 graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (J.D.). While at Berkeley, he served as an Articles Editor with the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law, negotiated against debt collectors in a low-income law clinic in Oakland, and assisted federal workers' compensation judges in San Francisco.

Sean joined the firm in 2012 and became a shareholder in 2017. All he does is represent injured workers: nearly a thousand in his career. He has worked on a diverse range of matters and argued cases before the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Industrial Claims Appeals Office. Because of his extensive accomplishments representing workers, Colorado's Super Lawyers Magazine selected Sean as a Rising Star every year between 2018 and 2025.

Sean is the Western Colorado Representative of the Workers' Compensation Education Association (WCEA), a nonprofit group of workers' attorneys. Aside from working with Colorado attorneys to help injured workers in the courtroom, he has written, lobbied for, and testified in support of legislation to expand worker protections and benefits. This includes landmark 2025 legislation allowing injured workers to select their own treating doctor, after 100 years of workers being required to see doctors chosen by insurers and employers. Sean has also written multiple amicus curiae briefs on behalf of the WCEA to the Court of Appeals on individual cases that affect all workers in Colorado.

Sean is a member of the state bars of Colorado, New Mexico, and Oregon.
